NY: New Wage Laws Effective 12/31/18

As of December 31, 2018, the thresholds for New York’s “executive” and “administrative” overtime exemptions will increase for all employers.

For employers with 11 or more employees (“Large Employer”), the salary thresholds will increase from $975 per week to $1,125 per week ($58,500 annually).

For those with 10 or fewer employees (“Small Employer”), the thresholds will increase from $900 per week to $1,012.50 per week ($52,650 annually).

Also effective December 31, 2018, the New York City minimum wage will increase to $15.00 per hour for large employers (11 or more employees) and to $13.50 for small employers (10 or fewer employees).
