Medicare Creditable Coverage Notices Due October 15th

bigstock-123890606By October 15th, organizations that offer prescription drug coverage must notify their Medicare-eligible participants as to whether the plan is Creditable or Non-Creditable. Coverage is defined as “creditable” if it is expected to cover as much as the standard Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. It is required that the notice is delivered in a timely manner so that participants can elect to enroll in a Medicare Part D plan during the enrollment period, which runs from October 15th through December 7th.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services have developed example notices and other guidance materials, which can be found by clicking here.
