Maximizing Your Interviewing System

When interviewing candidates, you need to effectively plan your interviewing cycle in a strategic fashion. We have such a limited amount of time to assess candidates, so limited that we need to approach the process with a “divide and conquer” mentality. Break up the key areas you want to cover amongst all the interviewers so that each person covers a set of unique information in addition to common areas of coverage, comparing notes thereafter in order to paint a complete picture of the candidate. Use second interviews to probe on any areas of concern or weakness. Most of us spend no more than 180 minutes assessing a prospective new hire. Use your time wisely.
