June Jobs Report Exceeds Expectations

The June jobs report, released earlier this month by the Department of Labor, showed that the U.S added 287,000 jobs last month. CBS Moneywatch reports that this growth far exceeded expectations, as June had been forecasted to have an add of only 180,000 jobs, which would still have been significantly higher than the three month average growth of 147,000 jobs per month. CBS Moneywatch says that wage growth was still relatively stagnant, with 0.1 percent growth in June.
