How Long Will They Stay?

Interview Question: How long do you plan to stay with our organization?
While you would expect to receive a clever answer like “forever” or even expect to get little out of this question — not so fast. You can get some interesting results here. Some will tell you “until a particular goal is achieved.” Some may give you the “at least xx years”. Whatever the response you want to probe. Why that goal? Why that long or short? Why would you project to stay here longer (or shorter) than each of your last 3 jobs? What would get you to stay longer? Simple question. Never a simple answer.
