Surprising Percentage of Employers Offering Health Insurance Within 30 Days Of Hire
Consulting Firms Announce Results of Benefits Practices Survey
Stamford, CT. [March 26, 2008] Human resources consulting firm, OperationsInc (OI) and management consulting firm, Performance-Solutions-Group, Inc. (PSG), are pleased to announce the results of their latest in a series of HR-centric surveys relating to today’s workforce. 60 organizations in the Fairfield / NY Metro Area participated in the survey which focused on Benefits Practices.
According to the survey:
- 66% of businesses provide medical insurance and other benefits to their employees within 30 days of being hired in 2008.
- Despite the hype this past year, only 15% of those firms that responded will be offering HRA / HSA high deductible plans as part of their insurance offering.
- 95% currently offer Life Insurance coverage for employees, fully paid for by the employer.
- 75% of businesses offer Flexible Spending / Section 125 Plans.
“We were a bit taken aback by how many firms are offering their full complement of employee benefits so early in the employee relationship”, said David Lewis, CEO of OperationsInc. “The lack of movement to HSA/HRA plans was also a bit of a shock given the continuing rise in medical costs.”
