Human Resources 101 - A Comprehensive Look at The Basics of HR
This course is designed to educate individuals on the core components of effective HR management and administration. Participants will learn about best practices, as well as strategic management of HR, with a focus on the small- to medium-sized business environment.
Who Should Attend?
- Owners of the HR function within their organization who have little or no prior HR training or experience
- HR Administrators who are looking for a more complete and formal education on the best ways to manage their areas of ownership

Through a blend of lecture, group discussion and hands-on highly interactive activities, participants will learn the following advanced leadership skills and application:
- A comprehensive review of HR recordkeeping and documentation, its makeup and use
- Key aspects of complying with Federal and State Law
- The core components of a complete and compliant Employee File
- A journey through the full employee life cycle and the role HR should play throughout
- The employee handbook – content, use and administration
- Best practices for administering employee benefit plans
- The dos and don’ts of research and self-management vs. when to use external resources
- Tips for securing HR-related guidance and data via the internet
- How to effectively on-board new hires and appropriately handle the process involved with those leaving
