The First 90 Days

First Day - Asking Questions 8.9Interview Questions: What would you do in your first 90 days that would ensure you knew your people, their roles, their personalities, etc?

 

A seasoned manager, especially one who has inherited a staff before, will have some plan of attack that should easily flow from their lips. Some may not, but those are the folks who should demonstrate the ability to think on their feet and still assemble at this moment a plan for your consideration. Listen for the candidate that talks more so about communicating what they need as a manager to their staff vs. probing the staff for what they need from their manager.
