Salary history inquiry bans have been on the rise over the past year, with laws being enacted in several states and cities including Delaware, Oregon, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and New York City. These laws “generally prohibit employers from asking applicants about their prior salary during the hiring and salary negotiation process”.
