The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has proposed a new deadline for the submission of the EEO-1 survey, which requires employers with 100 or more employees to submit pay data in an effort to identify pay discrimination. The proposal moves the deadline from September 30, 2017 to March 31, 2018. This change would allow employers to use their existing W-2 forms as part of their submission, which will aid the EEOC in collecting not only demographic data, but also data on pay ranges and hours worked. Employers may submit written comments on the revised deadline until August 15, 2016.
