How a Candidate Decides Between Job Offers

reviewIf offered two jobs – A – one that is low stress and pays well VS. B – one that is high stress and pays 25% more than the other….which would you accept?

Consider the role for which you are interviewing and the working environment you’ll be offering to this candidate. If you have a low stress job to offer then either answer probably would work. If you have a high stress job you want to hear B….but get ready to probe. Don’t just accept either answer. Ask them why they chose A or B. You want to learn whether or not you got the answer they thought you wanted to hear….or that they really are being honest about their aversion to stress OR their focus on $$$
