Executive Order Signed Regarding Apprenticeship Programs

President Trump has signed an executive order asking large private companies to play a “bigger role” in “designing federal apprenticeship programs”. The executive order “calls for roughly doubling, to $200 million, federal funding for apprenticeship programs through existing funding” as well as instructs the Secretaries of Labor, Education, and Commerce to “consider adopting regulations permitting private industry groups… to develop their own apprenticeship programs”. The order effectively expands apprenticeship programs, as well as presents opportunities for employer recognition.
