2017 Social Security Changes

Closeup detail of several Social Security CardsSocial Security benefit payments are set to increase by 0.3 percent in 2017, according to an announcement made by the Social Security Administration. In addition, the Social Security Wage Base (“the amount of income subject to Social Security taxes”) will increase from $118,500 to $127,200, and the age for full retirement will begin to increase in 2017 from 66 years old to 67 years old.
