Consulting Firms Announce Results of Recruiting Practices Survey

(PSG), announce the results of the first of a series of HR-centric surveys relating to today’s workforce. 73 organizations in the Fairfield / NY Metro Area participated in the survey which focused on Recruiting Practices.
According to the survey, Over 65% of those firms that responded conduct formal background checks via 3rd party service providers. Results also show that Online Advertising and Employee Referral Programs run neck-and-neck as preferred sources for identifying new hires, significantly outpacing agencies and classified advertising.
“The number of companies performing formal background checks is very significant as it demonstrates the high level of concern that today’s employer has about the integrity of information being provided by candidates for employment”, said David Lewis, CEO of OperationsInc.

In surprising contrast, retained search firms were ranked the least important. In sourcing non-management positions, there are no real surprises. Employee referrals, followed very closely by internal postings and online advertising, are ranked most important.”
